Roundtable Tutors was founded as a cooperative to help London's top tutors work together. Our unique structure provides a collaborative network, through which tutors share, develop and support good practice. Together we form a ‘roundtable of excellence’.
Every year we support students though 7+, 10+, 11+, 13+ and Scholarship exams, as well as GCSEs, A-Levels, IB and entry to the UK’s most competitive universities. We also offer specialist tuition for children who have struggled in the classroom, through targeted support, addressing problem areas and building confidence.
We provide full support for students who are home-schooled, delivering programmes that combine academic teaching with challenging extra-curricular activities. Due to our collaborative structure, where necessary, we can form a team of tutors who know each other well and will work closely together.
Almost all of us have undertaken postings overseas at some point in our careers. We stay with or near families, and understand the need for flexibility and space. Typically we offer up to five hours of teaching per day, which can be combined with sports, creative activities and educational outings.
We run predicative assessments, which we have developed ourselves, to help parents measure their children’s ability against their peers and provide guidance on the ‘right’ school. Our testing system is currently used by two leading education consultancies.
As working tutors, we are ideally positioned to provide insight into the British school system. We draw on our members’ diverse experience to give parents accurate and up-to-date advice. We also value the relationships we have with former students and parents, who can give us their own perspectives.
We mentor students through every stage of the university entry process. We advise on course and university choice, and have first-hand knowledge of the Oxbridge college system. We help each applicant fulfil his or her potential, developing their academic interests and fuelling their enthusiasm for their chosen subject.

Claire studied Geography at Jesus College, Cambridge before taking her PGCE and qualifying as a teacher. “I had been quite against tutoring – always believed that children should be left alone to figure their own way. But after meeting Tadhgh, I realised there is one thing the schools are definitely missing – they will not be able to find high quality teachers like him. Children need to see great things to be inspired”
“Olly has done a fabulous job with my son. He understood him perfectly, knew how to get him to work diligently, but also how to inspire him. I’ve watched lots of various teachers with all my children – music teachers, tutors etc. – and I haven’t seen anyone who has so quickly adapted their style and approach to a child’s method of learning as Olly. His results with my son have been outstanding.”
“My daughter really enjoyed Charlie’s Politics sessions, telling me that he explained things in a way that she found easier to understand, so thank you!”
“My daughter has come out top of the set in the majority of her assessments this term. I think her confidence is now far higher.”
“Louisa was a pleasure to have around and we’ve enjoyed her company immensely. She is patient with our children but forthright when she needs to be and we really value that.”
“If only we could have seen Rob more often! Now that our son is starting at Eton that will hopefully be easier to achieve. It was a pleasure having Rob stay with us he is the perfect guest and great dinner company, as well as good fun on a day trip! Our son needed help to realise his own strengths and weaknesses and Rob was just the ticket. I have already and will continue to recommend him and your group to my friends stateside and in Europe.”
“Matthew scored quite a coup when he had our son teaching his own maths class a method that the school teacher hadn’t been able to teach them. Now Archie’s whole class understands thanks to Matthew’s method!”
